Stories!!!
I love stories. I like to read them and find out what
happened. It's always fun to discover new things.
I asked some kids at our Vacation Bible School if they would write
down some of their favorite stories so I could share them with you here
on the KidsRanch. So these stories are all hand-picked
by kids just like you.
You can read the stories in the kids own
words, but I've also included the actual stories from the Bible so
you can find out everything that happened. Then I added some of my
own thoughts at the end to show you how these stories can help you in your life, every day.
I
hope it's as fun for you to read as it was for me and the kids to write!
Have fun reading! Here are the stories:
Trading Places
Feeling Better?
Praying Hard
REAL Power
Impossible!
Born Twice
God Speaks
I Didn't Do It!
The First Easter
Jesus Loves You
What's a Berean?
P.S. These stories were first written in Greek and Hebrew
a long time ago, but have been translated into English so we can read them, too.
When
the Bible was first written, the people wrote it in
their language, Hebrew. The letters look different than English,
plus you have to read them from right to left, instead of left to
right! So it's a good thing it was translated into English for us!
Hebrew
looks like this:
(This
says "Love your neighbor as yourself" - remember to start at
the right and read to the left!)
The Bible is
divided into two main parts: the Old
Testament which tells of all the events that lead up to Jesus birth, and
the New Testament which tells about Jesus' life and the years soon after
He died and rose from the dead.
By the time Jesus was
born, most people where it was written spoke Greek, so the people
who wrote about Jesus wrote in their everyday language, Greek.
Greek
looks like this:
(This
is the Greek word for "December". It sort of looks like
our word for December if you squint your eyes a little! Well,
maybe not!)
See
how much you've learned already!
